New This Year: Expanded Sunday Programming With Customer Path to Cloud

Sunday’s forecast at Oracle OpenWorld is cloudy with a chance of content. We’re pleased to announce that Sunday programming at Oracle OpenWorld will feature educational sessions on the path to cloud and how customers can migrate, connect, and extend their on-premise applications and databases with Oracle Cloud.

The expanded Sunday program will feature 123 user-driven sessions, 49 networking events hosted by user groups, and 54 Oracle-led sessions. “This expanded agenda brings together Oracle product and solution expert sessions and customer stories that feature different paths to cloud and how attendees can accelerate value and innovation with their Oracle solutions,” said Jeb Dasteel, Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer, Oracle. “There is no better way for customers to shape their own path than by harnessing the power of user communities to leverage the best practice experiences of peers who are successfully moving some or all of their operations to the cloud.”

To support individual customer journeys, content will remain balanced across deployment options. Just over half of the sessions will focus on cloud. User-led sessions will bring independent and objective viewpoints that help attendees navigate their own paths. Oracle-led sessions will focus on hybrid co-existence and how on-premise customers can enhance agility and innovation while reducing cost through Oracle Cloud.

“User groups have the knowledge and expertise to help customers navigate this generational shift in IT,” said Jeremy Whyte, Senior Director, User Groups. “This year’s Sunday lineup is a powerful combination of industry trends, product functionality, and user stories designed to help customers successfully optimize Oracle solutions across deployment options.”

Sessions are posted on the Oracle OpenWorld Content Catalog. Additional sessions will be shared at Oracle user group conferences, with supplemental user experience stories shared throughout the year.

Be sure to add Sunday sessions to your personalized Oracle OpenWorld schedule. The Schedule Builder tool is set to launch later this week!
